Valentine crap

well, we survived January. BARELY. It is literally the worst.
Luckily i was so busy at work that there wasn't much time left for sulking.
Lately, I've felt stuck in a funk. The worst kind of funk, too.
The kind that can't be dealt or reasoned with.
It just sits in the back of your mind causing all sorts of unnecessary worry.
And chocolate cravings.
I knew this time would come eventually.
I'm 21. no, 22 (oh gosh i'm 22???) married,
and not doing anything particularly exciting or meaningful with my life.

I know what comes next.
Except that.... guh.
I seem to be phobic over the idea.
yes, PHOBIC.
I walk past the baby clothing and get hot flashes and sweaty palms.
Kids come in my store and all i see is boogers, poop, and a headache.

is this normal??
I thought most girls get baby fever? And i'm stuck over here with baby intolerance.
Maybe i'm just terrified of getting a whole body rash that doesn't go away for 9 months.
Or having my feet swell two sizes.
or just being a hot sweaty mess in general for 9 months plus...
because it would happen to me. it would.
Steven definitely over-spoiled me for Valentines. He's pretty good at that.
We splurged at Tucanos that night, and went to see the new Nicholas Sparks "Safe Haven."
I'll admit, it was pretty adorable.
But why Mr.Sparks, must you always stick in something at the end to make us bawl our eyes out?
WHY???
That weekend i finally got a Saturday off (praises!), and we took full advantage.
We were in need of some serious vitamin D and clean air, so we trucked down to gorgeous St. George. Steven and his friend spent some time riding their dirt bikes, and i got to hang out with my two little bebes.
It was glooorious.
We also took the puppies rock climbing with us. Flynn was a champ. Harlee was a little wimp.
I guess that's ok, seeing she is still the size of a large squirrel.
I have had several people rave about this place called "Swig's" that has "the best diet coke in the world!!!" So naturally, we had to test it out.
And oh my, was it the best. I died a happy death.
Steven was a skeptic. But he can be, because he's hot.
Only problem was coming back. TO SNOW.
Spring can't come soon enough.
Also, if you are watching Downton Abbey season three...
please oh please don't watch the last 10 minutes of the finale.
SAVE YOURSELF.

The last of 2012

ummm... am i the only one who feels like 2012 flew by? the heck?
does this happen more frequently the older you get??
the last couple months of every year are always the best, lets get real.
Birthday, halloween, anniversary, thanksgiving, christmas, and new years all packed into three CONSECUTIVE months.
And people wonder why i get so grouchy after new years..
all the fun is over!
Steven took me on a quite the adventure for our first anniversary! We trekked up to Park City for a little shopping and dining, then stayed at this gorgeous SWISS resort in Midvale. Love me some Swiss.
...and then we got to have massive eclairs and gelato for breakfast. score.

I just can't believe how much our lives changed in one year! Growing up, years were an eternity long. I remember every Christmas night while falling asleep, i'd get all choked up and depressed because I had to wait ANOTHER 365 days to have Christmas again.
And now, things move at the speed of light.
Is there no happy medium???

It's ok. We have so many fun plans for 2013, and i'm glad time is flying.
because that only means i don't have to wait long, right? :)

Golden Birthday

Well folks, it's finally happened. I'm an old fart.
over the hill. past my prime. it's all downhill from here.
im so estatic.
all that comes next is wrinkles, baby pooch, bodacious love handles, and age spots... right?
can i even still shop at forever 21???
so many things to ponder.
Thank goodness it was the best birthday yet.
Because lets be honest, I for real celebrated all month.
On Saturday I got to go shopping, and then my parental units were kind enough to spoil both Steven and I. We went to our favvvorite chinese place and I convinced Steven to go see the Scarlet Pimperel. And guess what.... success! we found a play he actually LIKED.
who'da thought that would ever happen?
I'm just sad he missed out seeing Viewmont's version.
It was the best play they'd ever done, hands down.
it's been over a year and im still obsessed.

Sunday was spent relaxing then hanging out with my family and wayy over indulging in all things delicious.
Calories don't count on birthdays, don't cha know?
And i made pumpkin cookies for the 13th time.
yes, they are that amazing.
I spent my birthday morning sleeping in and cuddling puppies in bed.
Oh and totes catching up on Once Upon A Time. Of course.
Steven got back from work and took me out to lunch at that new place called "Johnny Rockets."
It was pretty spendid. And very adorable.
The rest of the day i dragged him to all around town to all the places he didn't want to go.
My birthday is probably the ONLY day i could get him to go into Hobby Lobby with me.
and then he convinced me to finally pierce my ears. life changes happening over here!!
i loved having the long weekend. but then i had to come back to this.
it's just a taste of what my life has been life.
choas.
i promise i haven't died. yet.
but if i keep working ten hour days it just might do me in.
we have to find creative ways to not go insane.
our little baby bean is totally adorable, right??
but man, is she sassssy!
it's hard to believe such a little body can have such a big attitude.
we love our little spaz ball.

summer changes

Well hey. it's been awhile.
With summer came many changes. And luckily for us, they were pretty dang good ones.

I started a new job, and so far it's been crazy hectic but I sure love being busy. It's barely leaving me enough time to cook dinner, do laundry, go to the gym, and keep up on The Bachelorette! So obviously priorities have been made, and dinner and laundry have been cancelled for a while. I know, what would Steven ever do without me??

We've been out boating every chance we get, and oh my is it a blast! We only have about two more weeks till FLAMING GORGE. As in a week long boating trip. Heaven.

Our puppies are loving the sunny weather, especially when we take them to play with the other dogs at the park.

We had a super fun and relaxing fathers day weekend. Lots of board games, cook-outs, and sunburns. But isn't that what it's all about? That, and fathers. I sure do have an amazing dad, grandpa's, and father-in-law... and of course baby daddy :)

Steven isn't a father yet, by any technical terms at least. But i can already tell, he's gonna be the best daddy ever. Until then, I think we have our hands full.

hope you had a fun father's day honey-buns! love you like cuhrazy.

mothers day weekend

sick of all the dog pictures yet? I don't have any babies yet, so for now you will be puppy spammed..
Steven and i did see the Avengers. TWICE. yes, it was that good. Especially because 99.9% of the time, Steven refuses to see a movie more than once. It was a big deal, ok? And just so ya know, Robert Downey pretty much made the movie. Of course he did
this picture slays me. no, literally slays me dead.
we had a very nice, kick-back kinda weekend. we got to hang out with our friends friday night! finally! it's been hard to do lately with the two little munchkins. so basically is was nice to get out.
Husband suprised me with some gorgeous flowers for mothers day! I told him I wasn't really a mom yet. He reminded me of the two "little boys" i have. So maybe we'll just say i'm a mother-in-training at the moment.

Ok guys. I have to be honest about something. As of late, i am displeased with the fact that I have to cook my own food, make my own bed, and clean my own house. And I blame all of that on the new show we have been watching: Downton Abbey.

I've always loved the early 20th century in London. So many great stories come from that time! And it's where our pioneer ancestors came from, so that's pretty cool too. And now, there's this show. And I'm officially obsessed. Granted, Steven and I had quite the shock during the first episode... but once we made it past that, we were hooked. And big plus, it's on Netflix right now! Highly recommend it.

Heart Day

I started out my V-day by sleeping in till 9:36am, and not showering. It was then that I realized all those years of getting up early to curl my hair and look all cutesy for the holiday are over.
Actually, I think my overall concern with appearance has really taken a beating ever since I snagged myself a man.
Got engaged, stopped putting on makeup. Got married, stopped doing my hair.
I'll probably stop showering once I'm pregnant.

I love Valentines Day though! Its the third day a year we can abandon our diets and worries of thunder thighs and stomach flab to over-indulge in anything made of sugar. My work celebrated by moving the peanut M&M's from their hiding spot in the cupboard, onto the counter where we might all enjoy them without any feelings of guilt or shame.
The costco size bag that usual takes a couple weeks to empty, was gone by noon. I guess it goes to show, temptation is much harder to resist when it's chocolately goodness is staring you in the face.
Steven and I decided to head downtown for the night and go to dinner and see "The Vow". Only problem is that was everyone else's idea too. So we decided to get some crisp bean burritos to tie us over through the movie, and get dinner afterwards. It kinda worked. Except that we ended up gorging ourselves on popcorn and diet coke because we were starving. By the time we made it to California Pizza Kitchen at 9pm, we weren't even hungry. But that didn't stop us from eating. Again.
Valentines is the best thing ever.
Is it funny that Steven and I both completely unknowing got each other geeky gifts?
That right there, is true love.
Hope you had as much fun as I did Steven! Thanks for being the sweestest husband of all time, and spoiling me wayyy more then you should. Love you always :)
